Penetration Tests (PenTest)

We conduct tests of IT systems to establish whether they are vulnerable to penetration, either by people outside the organisation or unauthorised individuals within it. The PenTest identifies vulnerabilities and assists our clients in establishing a baseline risk profile. Quest also provides advice on mitigating actions to reduce the risks. The test can imitate an individual outside the organisation with no insider knowledge who may seek to cause damage or access commercially sensitive information; or it can imitate an individual within the organisation who is seeking to escalate their privileges. The PenTest team uses commercial and freeware software tools identical or very similar to those available to the malicious hacker community.
