Physical Security Case Studies

The case studies below provide examples of the type of work Quest conducts for its clients. For further information about the type of work Quest can undertake, contact the company at info@quest.co.uk or telephone on 0207 387 7993.

Consultancy and Support

A multinational company asked Quest to advise it on the security implications of the closure of a number of its major facilities in three Central European countries, and to provide close protection for key staff at a time of increased tension. To produce its threat assessment, Quest teams visited the relevant facilities and interviewed key stakeholders.  In addition to identifying the possible threats, including from angry and aggressive staff, the Quest team were able to identify critical operational nodes that needed to be protected to ensure the continuation of production between the time of the announcement of closures, and the actual closure of the facilities.  At the time of the announcements, Quest provided close protection to key executives working at the facilities.  The client was able to implement their strategy smoothly.

Meeting the Requirements of Clients

Quest was instructed by a client to provide close protection to him and his family at a time of heightened threat.  The client had a high profile within a particular community, and had strong reasons to believe that his actions would result in extremists targeting him.  Quest conducted a threat assessment, identifying methods used by the extremists, where they had been active in the past, what support they had in the UK, and also analysis of broader trends in political violence.  This assessment was shared with the client and recommendations were made regarding the type of protection the client should have.  The client had specifically requested that his family should not be aware that they were being supported by a close protection team, requiring a stand-off approach using constant surveillance and tracking, as well as close protection.  The client was able to conduct his business as usual, including international travel whilst under protection, and his family were at no time aware of the presence of the close protection team.
